The beginning of 2008

First of all, 2008 started with adding a new addition to the Huff family...Harmony Renee Huff. She was born Feb. 11, 2008. She is truly God's gift. She is such a delight. I had the thought...Lord could we possibly have another child as loving and as precious as Joel (our 3 year old boy)? The answer is Yes. Harmony brings so much joy to our life. I am so blessed.

I had a quick recovery with Harmony. She was born by c-section. When she was about 5 months old our family had a life suddenly. Tuesday July 1st, I was having unbearable pains in my abdominal area. I insisted Ryan take me to the emergency room. Thankfully Ryan's parents raced to the house to stay with Joel and Harmony. Ryan took me to the Hill County Memorial Hospital in Fredricksburg. I had a cat scan done and from that scan the doctors found that I had a ruptured appendix, umbilical cord hernia, and a cyst on my right ovary.

Ok...when they told me this, it was like I became numb. I didn't freak out...but tears did start coming down my face. I had moments with the Lord where he told me that I would have some serious life changing experiences...not knowing what it would be. The day before I was taken to the hospital I looked up on the internet the symptoms I was having which started the Sunday evening before the incident. Well...I did find that there was a possibility that I could have appendicitis, which of course I ignored thinking that couldn't happen to me...I am so healthy.

Needless to say my life got turned upside down, even though this was happening I could feel the Lords peace through it all. I had a appendectomy and the doctors fixed my hernia but they did not feel it wise to take my cyst out at the time because I had so much infection from the appendix rupturing. I healed and did not let life slow me down. I led my first Night of Worship on July 28, 2008 at Impact Christian Fellowship, were I led worship songs and played the piano for about 2 hours with the help of an awesome worship team, which Ryan was apart of. He played the percussion instruments and sung along side me. About 150 people came and soaked in the presence of the Lord. It was an awesome night. Ryan and I were also apart of a dance that was performed at a conference here in Kerrville, TX. Another awesome experience.

Two months later, September 9th, I had my cyst taken out. I now feel like I can truly focus on my life and my family without having the annoying interruption of having to recover.

The Lord has been so good to give me peace and happiness trough all that has occurred in the beginnings of 2008. I am excited to see what experiences the Lord will bring for the rest of the year. Of course praying for a prosperous, healthy, and joyful rest of the year.
